Today, ModSquad launched as a critical hub to convene moderate voices and promote the core values they share with the majority of American voters: common sense and hard work. Under the leadership of Honorary Chair U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, ModSquad’s three organizations (Action, Foundation, and PAC) will use original research, authentic storytelling, and crucial convening to encourage elected officials to work across the aisle to deliver tangible results for their communities.
“Now more than ever, Americans across the country crave a sense of normalcy. But Donald Trump and Elon Musk are taking advantage of the issues Americans are facing to sow chaos and division in our country. Household costs are rising, our communities feel less safe, and basic health care services are at risk. It’s time we find a way forward by building consensus and using common sense to deliver real results for the American people,” said Honorary Chair Senator Catherine Cortez Masto.
“That’s why I volunteered to help lead ModSquad, because the U.S. Senators who are digging in on the tough issues and working across the aisle will be the ones to forge the path forward for our country. Through ModSquad’s robust education, thoughtful research, and smart communication, we can better fulfill our promise to improve the lives of hardworking families across the country.”
Today, with the leadership of Senator Cortez Masto, ModSquad laid out three goals for 2025 that prioritize the need to actively listen, evaluate, and take action on the issues facing Americans.
LISTEN: We will conduct original research to better understand where Americans' concerns are focused, how elected officials can better represent their interests, and how we can improve communication between Americans, elected officials, and other stakeholders.
EVALUATE: We will convene key stakeholders from inside and outside the U.S. Senate to understand the research and improve communication through effective messaging and authentic storytelling.
CREATE SOLUTIONS: We will amplify the work moderates are doing in states across the country to help Americans better understand how the hard work of their elected officials is creating solutions and affecting change that will move our country forward.
“We are proud to have Senator Cortez Masto as a key part of ModSquad’s leadership. Her dedication to serving the nation and record of success in a state like Nevada will help ModSquad expand our ability to reach voters in a meaningful way. The Senators we support all share the understanding that when we work together, we can create more good paying jobs, grow a stable and thriving economy, and help foster safer communities for all Americans. We are excited to have her on board and we are ready to get to work,” said ModSquad Executive Director Jennifer Mueller.
For more than 17 years, ModSquad PAC has played an essential role in helping to grow and maintain Democratic Senate majorities. In 2024, ModSquad expanded its reach beyond ModSquad PAC to develop ModSquad Action and ModSquad Foundation, organizations that conduct original research, improve communication and educate stakeholders, voters, Senators and their staff to strengthen their ability to respond to their constituents.
The path to the majority runs through moderate Senate Democrats, and with Senator Cortez Masto at the helm, ModSquad will continue to support Senators and candidates who deliver for their constituents and move our country forward.
